Is Anne's Beach Good for Swimming?

No, not in the traditional sense. Anne's Beach at MM 73.5 in Islamorada is a tidal flat with sand over seagrass substrate. Water stays knee-deep for hundreds of feet — real swimming is nearly impossible except at high tide. It's better suited for wading, kite-surfing, and walking the 1,300-foot mangrove boardwalk. Best visited November through April.

What AI Gets Wrong

AI search results and generic travel guides imply Anne's Beach has normal swimming depth. It does not.
